COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is impacting the globe in ways we haven’t seen in recent memory. The well-being of our students, staff and campus communities is our top priority and we hope the below will help answer many of the questions you have.

  • Are hands-on labs open at my campus?

    Hands-on training is returning to all UTI and MMI labs:

  • How are you communicating COVID-19 updates?

    Updates are sent via email and text, along with published updates on Urgent updates are broadcast through our emergency response system. We also will publish some updates on our social media channels.

  • Will my graduation date change?

    Your graduation date is connected to the time frame that students are able to return to campus in order to complete the required hands-on training activities and labs.

  • Are student services still available?

  • Are campus tours/visits postponed due to COVID-19?

    The health and well-being of our students and staff is a top priority, so we’ve temporarily postponed student tours. Please check back for updates.

  • Are campus events postponed due to COVID-19?

    All campus events have been temporarily postponed. When it comes to the health and well-being of our students, staff, and our wider communities as a whole, we want to show extreme caution.

  • What should I do if I'm a student who is struggling financially during the crisis?

    Our Employment Services staff at each campus can assist students who have lost a job and need to look for a new one.

    Additionally, our Student Services teams have community resource lists for services that include food banks and shelters. Our campus food pantry is great resource for students in need, and our Student Services team can also help qualified students apply for emergency funds as needed.

  • How does this affect students that have assisted living?

    For students living in Collegiate Housing Services or Compass Rose Student Housing, please reach out to your housing provider for specific questions regarding leases. While classes will be online for a period of time, you will need to return to campus to complete hands-on lab tasks once it is appropriate to do so.

  • What are you doing to lower the risk of spreading the coronavirus?

    We’re actively following guidelines and recommendations from the CDC and local health departments as we continue to monitor any changes to those protocols and adjust as needed.

  • Have you changed the way you're cleaning/disinfecting each campus?

    Each campus is working with their cleaning providers to take enhanced sanitizing measures. Additionally, we’re:

    • Cleaning high-touch surfaces multiple times daily
    • Providing hand-sanitizing stations
    • Directing individuals who show symptoms of illness to stay home and seek medical attention
    • Promote effective personal hygiene

  • Are you screening students, staff, and campus visitors for COVID-19?

    Any students or staff who have recently visited impacted areas, have been in close contact with anyone suspected of or with a confirmed case, or who exhibit symptoms are being directed to self-quarantine and seek immediate medical care before they are allowed back on campus.

    Those individuals cannot return to any UTI or MMI campus until they have passed the recommended quarantine period per CDC guidelines. If someone tests positive for COVID-19 or is symptomatic, they will be required to provide medical clearance before returning.

  • Are travel restrictions in place for UTI or MMI staff or students due to COVID-19 (coronavirus)?

    We’re adhering to travel guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). To ensure the safety of our students and staff, before anyone is allowed return to any campus after traveling to an area impacted by the coronavirus, that individual will be directed to self-quarantine as recommended by the CDC.

  • How can I help prevent the spread of COVID-19?

    There are many things that we can do as individuals to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus):

    • Frequently wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (if soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer).
    • Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
    • If you are experiencing symptoms, and stay home and seek medical attention.
    • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
    • Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that are frequently touched.
    • Get a flu vaccine.

  • Are you going to take attendance for online courses?

    Once you receive your technical course invitation, you will be required to log in and complete attendance daily. To complete this assignment, open the daily attendance notification and use the “mark as done” button to record your attendance. We will record attendance for all courses and you are required to properly record your attendance every day (Monday-Friday). We strongly encourage you to complete all assignments in the courses you are assigned within Blackboard Ultra, this would include the Orientation courses for new and returning students.
