COST OF ATTENDANCE
Wondering how much it costs to attend Universal Technical Institute (UTI)? Get an estimate here. The UTI cost of attendance (COA) is the estimated total amount it will cost to attend a trade school. It’s calculated by the federal government’s definition and includes both direct and indirect costs, which include:
Direct costs: Tuition, fees, books, course materials, supplies and equipment.
Indirect costs: Housing, food, transportation and other personal expenses.
Understanding your full COA is the first step to building a financial plan and determining how to pay for trade school. Because every program and city is different, costs can vary and may change without notice. Current tuition for each campus is listed in UTI’s UTI’s catalog addendum.

Frequently Asked Questions About UTI’s Cost of Attendance
Have questions about how to pay for trade school and UTI’s cost of attendance? Here are some answers to the most common ones.
Does cost of attendance include housing?
Yes, UTI’s cost of attendance includes housing as an indirect cost. Because housing costs vary by city, your total COA will differ depending on which campus you attend and live near.
Is the cost of trade school the same at every UTI campus?
No, the cost of attendance is not the same at all UTI campuses. Both direct costs (like tuition) and indirect costs (like housing) vary based on location and program. This is why the COA calculator is helpful, as it allows you to plug in your campus and area of interest.
How long are UTI’s programs, and how does that affect tuition?
UTI’s programs all vary in length from 7 to 24 months. Tuition costs are different depending on which program you choose.
Because our programs are shorter than a traditional four-year degree path, they allow you to spend less time in school and prepare to enter the workforce more quickly.
Does UTI offer military or veteran benefits?
Yes, UTI offers specialized resources for veterans and military service members. We have a dedicated Military Support Center that can help you navigate using your VA education benefits.20
