With 220,000 square feet of training space, our Houston campus has a 38-year history of preparing technicians for the automotive, diesel, collision repair and welding industries. Additionally, qualifying graduates can apply to take advantage of Manufacturer-Specific Advanced Training focused on Ford, BMW and Cummins diesel engines11 after completing a core program.
What are you passionate about? At the UTI Houston campus, we offer core training programs in Automotive, Diesel & Industrial, Auto/Diesel & Industrial, Collision Repair and Welding technology. Each program can help give you the skills you need to pursue an in-demand career.1
In the 51-week Automotive Technology program, you’ll learn the basics of automotive service and repair, brake systems, electronic systems and technology, and so much more. As a graduate of UTI Houston, you’ll earn a diploma and will be prepared to test for ASE certification to demonstrate your level of training and professionalism.
Do you love working on big engines? In the 45-week Diesel Technology program, your courses will dive into truck brakes and chassis, diesel engines and fuel systems, transport refrigeration, and much more. Upon completion of the program, you’ll earn a diploma and will be prepared to test for ASE certification.
The Collision Repair & Refinish Technology (CRRT) program is designed to equip you with the skills needed to manipulate and shape metal using specialist custom equipment, weld steel and aluminum, create your own designs with specialist colors in custom paint, and much more. Graduates earn a diploma in addition to valuable I-CAR certifications. They’re also prepared to test for additional auto body certifications if they choose.
In the 36-week Welding Technology training program, you’ll learn four different welding processes. Developed in conjunction with Lincoln Electric, your courses will cover everything from welding safety guidelines to various types of welding applications. As a graduate, you’ll earn a diploma and be prepared to test for welding certifications.
Interested in applying to add a Manufacturer-Specific Advanced Training program to your education?We have more than 7,000 square feet dedicated to Ford FACT, where you can earn up to 12 of Ford’s STST credentials. In our 2,000-square-foot Cummins Engines diesel training lab, you have the opportunity to train on Cummins engines, earning certifications on all Cummins MidRange and heavy-duty engines, as well as all current Cummins systems.46
