There’s a nationwide shortage of technicians, and employers are going to great lengths to recruit and retain talent, including graduates of UTI. The Tuition Reimbursement Incentive Program (TRIP)14 was created to help companies attract top technicians by drawing attention to employers offering various incentives. These may include:

Tuition reimbursement refers to employers agreeing to cover all or a portion of the monthly student loan payments owed by graduates they hire. The amounts and methods depend on the employer. For example, some offer a certain amount over a set time period while others offer to cover the full tuition amount divided into equal payments.

Requirements vary based on the employer. Employers may have specific requirements such as the completion of an advanced training program and a clean driving record.
UTI students and graduates are able to access information on companies with tuition reimbursement, as well as job openings with those employers on campus job boards or the virtual incentive job board — both of which are exclusive to them. They can also visit with Employment Specialists to discuss employment opportunities.
TRIP incentives vary from employer to employer. Some make their incentives available to UTI/MMI/NASCAR Tech grads while others offer incentives exclusive to students who complete particular training programs such as Auto or Diesel.
