Cummins Training Overview
If you’d like to learn the fundamentals of power generation, look no further than UTI’s Cummins Power Generation manufacturer-specific advanced training (MSAT).1 This 12-week program focuses on equipment and controls, as well as engine maintenance of electrical generators and power generation systems that run in a variety of commercial and personal applications.9

- Principles of electricity
- AC/DC electrical systems
- Power & control electronics
- Motor & alternator controls
- Rotating electrical machines
- Load bank testing
- Preventative maintenance
- Fundamentals of AC generators
- Fundamentals of transfer switches
- Fundamentals of PCC controls
Cummins Power Generation training is a highly selective program. You must apply, meet certain qualifications, interview and be accepted to become one of the Cummins elite.46

You must complete one of the following Diesel Technology core curriculum programs from UTI or another program certified by the ASE Education Foundation:
- Technology I - CPGN: Diesel Only; All Diesel Courses

- Yes. All of our campuses are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.
- A generator technician installs, maintains and repairs generators, ensuring they operate efficiently and reliably to provide power. They may diagnose issues, perform routine inspections and handle mechanical and electrical components.
- Each student who successfully completes the program courses and the related testing for Cummins Engines qualifications will be classified as a CMI Level 1 Technician.
