According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) the median annual salary for bus and truck mechanics and diesel engine specialists in the United States was $58,970 in May 2023.²⁹ This means half earned more and half earned less. Keep in mind that salary depends on several factors, including experience, employer, demand and cost of living in the area.

The opportunity doesn’t end in Pennsylvania. Getting to our diesel mechanic school from Lancaster is simple. Once you’re ready to visit, follow these steps (this route requires tolls):

1. Get on US-30 W in East Lampeter Township from East King Street and PA-23 E. (3.1 miles)
• Head northeast on East King Street toward North Christian Street. (1 mile)
• Turn left onto North Broad Street. (0.2 miles)
• Turn right onto East Chestnut Street. (348 feet)
• East Chestnut Street turns slightly left and becomes PA-23 E/Grofftown Road. Continue to follow PA-23 E. (1.3 miles)
• Use any lane to merge onto US-30 W via the ramp to New Holland/Harrisburg. (0.5 miles)
2. Follow US-222 N and I-76 to Uwchlan Township. Take Exit 312 from I-76. (43.2 mi)
• Merge onto US-30 W. (0.9 miles)
• Take the US-222 N exit toward Ephrata/Reading. (0.5 miles)
• Continue onto US-222 N. (15 miles)
• Take the exit toward I-76/PA-272/Pa Turnpike/Denver. (0.2 miles)
• Turn right onto Colonel Howard Boulevard. (0.7 miles)
• Keep right at the fork and follow signs for I-76 and merge onto I-76. (25.3 miles)
• Take Exit 312 for PA-100 S toward Pottstown Pike. (0.4 miles)
• Keep right at the fork and follow signs for PA-100 N/Pottstown and merge onto PA-100 N/Pottstown Pike. (0.2 miles)
3. Continue onto PA-100 N/Pottstown Pike toward UTI Exton. (0.8 mi)
