Orlando is the only city that is home to three Universal Technical Institute campuses.

Whether you’re interested in automotive, diesel, motorcycle mechanics or marine, Orlando has a UTI campus for you.

At UTI, we encourage students to have a balance between work and play. After all, your student experience should be enjoyable! Whether you live in Florida or will be traveling from another state to attend UTI, this guide is for you. Read along as we share some fun things to do in Orlando when you need a study break.

Universal Studios

One of the most famous spots in Orlando, Universal Studios attracts visitors from around the world. The park is full of rides and attractions based on some of your favorite movies and TV shows. From Harry Potter to Despicable Me, you’ll have the chance to burst through the screen and become part of the story through rides and other immersive experiences.

Tickets to Universal Studios can be pricey—but there are ways to save by finding cheap things to do in Orlando. For example, Universal CityWalk is a hub located just outside the park filled with shopping, restaurants, shows and more. Entry to CityWalk is free, and guests who purchase two or more matinee tickets receive free regular parking from 11am-6pm. After 6pm, free self-parking is available to all guests.

Kennedy Space Center

If you have a love for the world of space, look no further than Kennedy Space Center. This complex is organized into ‘mission zones,’ where attractions and tours are grouped by chronological era. From the beginning of space exploration to current and ongoing missions, you can get an up-close, hands-on experience as you learn about space ventures over time.

Lake Eola

While some of Florida’s attractions cost, there are plenty of free things to do in Orlando. Located near the heart of downtown Orlando, Lake Eola offers beautiful views and a 9-mile walking sidewalk that’s perfect for taking a stroll. The lake is also known for being home to some very large swans, too! Throughout the year, the city of Orlando puts on various free events, like movie showings.
