Auto Mechanic Career Opportunities Near Lakewood

There are many paths that can be pursued in the automotive industry. UTI’s automotive school graduates are prepared to pursue entry-level positions as auto technicians, performing general service and repair; as service writers, creating work orders for technicians and keeping customers updated on the status of repairs; or as parts associates, handling inventory and helping locate correct parts.

Our graduates are prepared to pursue entry-level positions. As with any industry, over time technicians may be able to advance their careers with experience and hard work. Some experienced technicians could become shop owners, service managers and fleet technicians later in their careers.77

UTI’s 45-week Diesel Technology program prepares students to test for ASE certification after graduations, as well as service and repair diesel-powered equipment, such as trucks and buses.7 Students practice on industry-standard equipment and graduates earn a diploma!

Collision repair training near Lakewood, California

Our 36-week auto body repair program was created with the help of I-CAR – an industry provider of collision repair training and standards. Students can earn several I-CAR progress badges and can pursue an entry-level position following graduation!1

Welding training near Lakewood, California

The Welding Technology program was created with help from industry-leading brand, Lincoln Electric. For 36 weeks, students gain hands-on experience in arc welding in various positions so they can feel prepared to pursue entry-level roles as combination welders after graduation!1

Electrical, Electronics, & Industrial Technology (Diploma)  
This 12-month program introduces key concepts like electrical systems, wiring methods, industrial controls and electronic components used in today’s facilities. Students develop skills in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical equipment. 

Electrical, Electronics, & Industrial Management Technology (AOS Degree)*  
Students can also pursue a 19-month associate of occupational studies (AOS) degree that builds on core electrical training while adding coursework in industrial operations and management.
