Programs Offered at UTI Near Costa Mesa

Diesel technician training

Students of the Diesel Technology program spend 45 weeks learning to service various types of diesel engines.7 Course topics include engines service and repair, diesel truck brake systems and chassis, vehicle electronic systems and technology and more! Graduates receive a diploma and the knowledge needed to test for ASE certification!

Collision repair and refinish technician training

The Collision Repair & Refinish Technology program is 36 weeks and was created with help from industry-leading brands like I-CAR, Axalta and 3M. Graduates can earn a diploma and I-CAR progress badges!

Welding technology training

The 36-week hands-on Welding Technology program teaches students four welding processes, safety standards, different welding positions and more! Graduates receive a diploma and can begin pursuing entry-level positions as welders, fabricators and fitters.1

Airframe and powerplant technician training

The Airframe & Powerplant Technician program teaches students to perform routine maintenance on various aircraft through courses on reciprocating and turbine engines, navigation and communication systems, basic electricity and more!79 At the end of 18 months, graduates receive a diploma verifying their training.

UTI Long Beach offers two training options focused on electrical systems and industrial technology.130 

Electrical, Electronics, & Industrial Technology (Diploma)  
This 12-month program introduces key concepts like electrical systems, wiring methods, industrial controls and electronic components used in today’s facilities. Students develop skills in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical equipment. 

Electrical, Electronics, & Industrial Management Technology (AOS Degree)*  
Students can also pursue a 19-month associate of occupational studies (AOS) degree that includes the same core technical training as the diploma, along with general education courses.

Robotics and automation technician training

This 12-month program introduces programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robotic systems and automation processes used in modern manufacturing, along with troubleshooting techniques. 

Electrical, Robotics & Automation Management Technology (AOS Degree)*  
This 19-month associate of occupational studies (AOS) degree combines hands-on robotics and automation training with general education courses, offering a broader academic foundation alongside technical skill development.
