According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the median annual salary for welders, cutters, solderers and brazers in the Philadelphia metropolitan area was $49,770 in May 2022.²⁶ This means half of earned more and half earned less. Remember that salary can depend on several factors, including experience, employer, demand and cost of living in the area.

Welding school graduates who are interested in welding opportunities outside Pennsylvania may be encouraged to know that the BLS reports more than 42,000 estimated average annual welding job openings in the U.S.⁴² UTI’s Career Services department can help them identify roles in the region that interests them.

Those who have combination welding skills like the ones taught at UTI can seek work in a variety of environments, including:
