Not only do students at UTI Orlando build a foundational skill set, but they also can graduate prepared to test for National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification. The Automotive program at UTI Orlando is an ASE Education Foundation accredited program, so students learn from ASE-certified instructors and take courses that supply them with relevant knowledge.

Additionally, program graduates can substitute their training for one year of the two years of work experience required to become ASE certified.

According to the BLS, the median annual salary for automotive service technicians and mechanics in the Orlando area was $46,600 in May 2022.²⁵ This means half of automotive techs earned more and half earned less. • Automotive technicians repair and service various vehicle makes and models at repair shops, lube shops and dealerships.
• Parts technicians identify, order and price parts and maintain inventory.
• Service writers/advisors meet with clients to assess needs and create work orders for auto technicians. They also keep clients updated on the status of their vehicles.
