Knight was created by four cousins, Randy, Gary, Keith, and Kevin. All four of them worked for Swift Transportation before starting Knight Transportation in 1990.
They envisioned a better way to do trucking. They wanted to focus primarily on safety with our driving associates and service for our customers, while being the lowest cost carrier, with first-in-class equipment.
With one service center in Phoenix, AZ, a handful of trucks and a desire to grow, the four cousins went to work.
Today, Knight is led by Dave Jackson (CEO) and Adam Miller (CFO) along with the founders Kevin, Keith, and Gary, who continue to play intricate roles in guiding the continual growth of the business. Knight operates more than 4,600 trucks, 30 plus services
centers, with revenues generating over $1B annually.
