Located close to Clifton, New Jersey, is Universal Technical Institute’s Bloomfield, New Jersey, welding school, where students get nine months of hands-on training featuring four key four key industrial arc welding techniques.¹

Our Welding training program at UTI Bloomfield uses a hands-on approach, featuring the use of industry-aligned tools. We help equip our Welding Technology students with the skills needed to perform the four primary arc welding methods, preparing them to pursue industry careers after graduation. These welding methods include:

• Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
• Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
• Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW)
• Flux-cored arc welding (FCAW)

After graduating from our welding school, students are awarded certificates. The welding industry could be a great fit for those who are detail-oriented, conscious of safety measures and persistently curious.

UTI’s welding training grads are prepared to become entry-level welders or pursue other entry-level roles, such as:⁷⁷

• Fabrication welder
• Welder fitter
• Wirer

As with any industry, over time, welders may be able to advance their careers with experience and hard work.⁶ Here are a few examples of advanced welding technology careers:

• Inspector
• Quality control
• Certified welding inspector
• Welding project manager

The 51-week Automotive Technology program at UTI Bloomfield offers students a chance to study the techniques of maintenance and repair for various vehicle models.⁷ Graduates earn certificates.
