At UTI Miramar’s automotive mechanic school, students train on a variety of vehicles using tools and technology found in the industry. The 51-week program⁷ covers engine service and repair, powertrains and transmissions, emissions performance, electronic systems and technology, and more.

Program grads earn an occupational associate degree (OAD), which attests to their foundational knowledge and entry-level skills.

Welding School

Miramar’s welding school offers a 36-week training program designed to introduce students to the four main types of arc welding used in various industries.

With guidance from experienced instructors, students practice in state-of-the-industry labs, learning to plan projects, read blueprints, interpret codes, weld in multiple positions and follow safety protocols. Graduates earn diplomas and can embark on their journeys as entry-level welders, fabricators and fitters.

Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic School

UTI’s airframe and powerplant school in Miramar⁷⁹ is designed to help prepare students to pursue entry-level careers within the aviation industry, including turbine technician, field technician or aviation mechanic.⁷⁷

The 18-month program includes courses like Reciprocating Engine Inspection and Overhaul, Turbine Engine Accessories, and Hydraulics and Pneumatics to train students to maintain and repair various types of aircraft and related components.
