Creating a Curriculum That Provides Industry-Mirrored Training

Unlike traditional cars, electric vehicles have different maintenance needs, such as battery checks, charging, and power usage. Knowing how to repair and maintain electric vehicles requires formal training in high-voltage electrical systems, battery storage systems and electric powertrain systems, as well as knowing how to use specialized tools and equipment to diagnose and make repairs.

Through a curriculum built hand in hand with Bosch, UTI Sacramento’s EV course equips Automotive Technology and Automotive & Diesel Technology students with knowledge about current technology in the automotive industry. The program’s advanced, industry-specific education provides students with the right skill sets to pursue a career as a technician in today’s job market.
