DALLAS/FORT WORTH STUDENT HOUSING ASSISTANCE

Housing While You Attend Universal Technical Institute’s Dallas/Fort Worth Campus

At the UTI Dallas/Fort Worth campus, Student Services teams with Collegiate Housing Services (CHS) to assist students who need help securing housing. CHS provides a full range of housing services and works closely with students to determine the best options. Below are the services available to assist in your relocation.

SHARED HOUSING

Collegiate Housing Services offers a shared housing program in full-size apartments that are typically within 10 miles of campus. Apartment rent, furniture, basic utilities and roommate matching are all included in your monthly housing payment. All students are on individual leases, which offers financial protection from your roommates and allows apartment transfer flexibility.

The typical setup is four students in a two-bedroom apartment. Some CHS arrangements allow for private rooms or 21-and-older options.

Is this the right fit for you?

  • Coming by yourself
  • OK with sharing space
  • Individual lease tailored to your graduation date
  • Want an individualized lease tailored to your graduation date

WHAT NOW?

Visit the CHS website to complete your application and to get more information about CHS’ shared housing program, including apartment locations and pricing.

INDEPENDENT HOUSING

Want to live on your own or with friends and manage the rent, utilities and daily ins-and-outs? The Collegiate Housing Services apartment locator program might be your answer.

CHS has a list of prescreened apartment communities near your campus. In most cases, they’ve worked out favorable rental rates for students leasing apartments. The program allows you to rent your own place from the apartment community, then you are responsible for your own roommates, shared rent payment, furniture and utilities.

With the exception of rooms for rent, this option tends to be more expensive and typically requires good credit or a cosigner, so make sure to budget appropriately before you arrive for school.

A little about us…

The UTI Dallas/Fort Worth campus is located in Irving, which is situated between Dallas and Fort Worth and is considered an inner-ring suburb of Dallas. The campus is about 4 miles northeast of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. As the second-largest state in both size and population, Texas encompasses 268,820 square miles and is home to roughly 29.2 million people. The size of the state and the bigger-than-life attitude of some of its inhabitants has led to the saying “Everything Is Bigger in Texas.”  Another common term, “texas-sized” is used to describe something that is large compared to other objects of its type. Find out more about Irving by visiting the city of Irving’s official webpage.

Public transportation

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is the Dallas public transportation authority that provides buses, rail lines, and HOV lanes to much of Dallas County. Discount student bus pass applications are available from Student Services.
