MARINE TECHNICIAN SPECIALIST TRAINING PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Marine Technician Specialist program is perfect for those who love the water and want to pursue a career in the marine industry.1 Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on experience, students will learn everything from inboard gas and diesel to outboard 4-stroke and 2-stroke motors.

EARN YOUR CREDENTIALS AT MARINE MECHANICS INSTITUTE

GET YOUR ASSOCIATE DEGREE

Marine Mechanics Institute awards occupational associate degrees (OAD) to graduates of the Marine Technician Specialist program who add nine weeks (three courses) from the UTI Diesel Technology program curriculum. All other grads receive diplomas.

GAIN FACTORY CREDENTIALS

MMI students have the opportunity to pursue and achieve provisional certification as factory-certified technicians for Mercury Marine outboard products. Students must complete core Mercury University requirements as an embedded component of the 51-week Marine Technician Specialist program, as well as additional online distance-learning courses to achieve the certification.

WHEN CAN I START? EVERY SIX WEEKS.

Flexible scheduling and frequent start times mean it’s never too soon or too late to start your training. Marine mechanic classes begin every six weeks, with morning, afternoon and some evening classes to accommodate your schedule.
