Six trade school certificate programs are available for students at UTI’s Canton campus: Welding Specialist, Airframe and Powerplant Technician, HVACR Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Wind Power Technician and Robotics and Automation Technician. While enrolled, students are taught by professionals using industry-standard tools to deliver these programs, equipping students with in-demand skills.¹

Students who complete the complementary core prorams also have the option to earn associate of applied science (AAS) degrees in the Aviation Maintenance Technology, Energy Technology and Robotics and Automation Technology courses.

In the 9-month Welding Specialist program, students at UTI Canton gain hands-on experience in the four main arc welding processes. This program teaches them the skills required to explore entry-level roles within the welding industry. Graduates earn certificates.

The HVACR Technician program at the Canton location spans 9 months. It is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required for the upkeep and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Graduates earn certificates.

Students and graduates of UTI's 20-month Airframe and Powerplant Technician program can apply and test for FAA certification, a credential crucial to pursuing opportunities in the aviation industry.^79,128 They also gain the technical knowledge needed to safely maintain and repair various aircraft components.

Gain industry-aligned knowledge and develop key technical skills in the 12-month Robotics and Automation program. Our hands-on training, emphasizing automation, teaches students to set up automated and robotic systems, providing them with practical experience in electrical, mechanical and programming.

The Industrial Maintenance Technician program at UTI’s Canton campus lasts 7 months, covering maintenance essentials in industries like power generation and manufacturing. Graduates earn certificates.

The Wind Power Technician program at UTI is a 7-month course that teaches key concepts such as electrical systems, hydraulic applications, troubleshooting and safety. Graduates earn certificates.

2. Take I-696 West and I-275 South to US-12 West/Michigan Avenue in Canton. Take exit 22 from I-275 South (24.5 miles)
1. Merge onto M-10 North (2.5 miles)
2. Use the left two lanes to take exit 18C to merge onto I-696 West (6.7 miles)
3. Use the right two lanes to take exit 1 for I-96 East/I-275 toward Toledo (1.6 miles)
4. Continue onto I-275 South/I-96 East (5.5 miles)
5. Keep right at the fork to continue on I-275 South (7.8 miles)
