The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is an organization that certifies professionals in the automotive repair and service industry. Obtaining the ASE auto mechanic certification is a way for technicians to demonstrate their commitment to continuing education and staying up to date with the latest developments in the field.

Graduates of UTI's Automotive Technology program are also prepared to test for ASE certifications and substitute their training for one of the two years of work experience required to become ASE certified.

Those who enroll in additional manufacturer-specific training could also prepare to test for brand-specific auto mechanic certifications.6
