Jorge's fascination with vehicles began early in his life. In high school, he knew he was destined for a hands-on career. "I always had an idea that I was going to be some sort of hands-on person," Jorge shares. His natural inclination toward working on vehicles made it clear that the automotive industry was where he belonged.

UTI and Ford FACT: Building a Solid Foundation

After high school, Jorge enrolled in UTI’s Automotive Technology program, which provided him with the foundational skills needed for the industry.1But he didn't stop there. He went on to join the Ford FACT program, an experience that he describes as invaluable. "The Ford FACT program helped exceed my base knowledge even more," says Jorge. Graduating with his chassis master and 70% of his electrical, engine and transmission certifications, Jorge was well-equipped for a career.

Life at Galpin Ford: Diagnosing and Fixing With Precision

At Galpin Ford, Jorge's role as a quick service technician involves diagnosing and addressing a variety of vehicle issues, from electrical problems to noise and vibration concerns. His comprehensive training makes it possible for him to quickly and accurately identify and fix these issues, providing top-notch service to every customer. "Since they put me here, I basically have a head start. I don't have to spend too much time figuring out the basics of Ford vehicles," Jorge explains.

Advice for Aspiring Technicians

For those considering a career in the automotive industry, Jorge offers this advice: "Just keep tinkering with random things. That's how I fell into the whole automotive thing."
