NATT OVERVIEW

UTI’s Nissan Automotive Technician Training elective gets you ready to work on the full line of Nissan and Infiniti vehicles. Students work on the latest models, tools and technologies, including an introduction to Nissan’s latest hybrid technologies. The program includes a strong electrical focus and other critical experiences that make you more marketable in the automotive industry.

CREDENTIALS

Successful NATT graduates earn more than 50 percent of the Nissan SCOPE Technician certification credits.

FINANCIAL AID

Financial aid for the Nissan program may be available for those who qualify. For more information on applying for financial assistance, including grants, student loans, scholarships, VA benefits or private financing, contact the UTI Financial Aid department.20

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Nissan Automotive Technician Training Scholarship is a program designed to provide select NATT students with financial assistance covering most tuition costs. The scholarship is open to all students but some restrictions apply.10

COURSE OBJECTIVES

EXPRESS SERVICE

Introduced in NATT sections 1 & 2 to prepare for a final skills assessment in section 3.

NISSAN ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

Learn how to correctly inspect and recommend repairs for Nissan electrical systems and components.

NISSAN CHASSIS & ENGINES

Learn how to correctly inspect and repair Nissan chassis systems and components, including steering, and antilock braking and traction control systems. You’ll also examine valve timing, removing and replacing timing belts and/or chains, and setting valve clearances.

NISSAN DRIVE TRAINS & CLIMATE SYSTEMS

Learn how to correctly inspect, disassemble and reassemble Nissan clutches, manual transmissions and manual transaxles; the function and diagnosis of both manual and automatic temperature climate control systems; and the evacuation, recovery and recharging of these systems in compliance with EPA standards.

HOW TO QUALIFY

NATT graduates will receive over half of the credits they need to attain Nissan SCOPE Master Technician Status. To qualify, you need to be a high school graduate or have earned your GED. You also need to complete one of the following:

Core Program Training

Core Automotive Technology Program at any UTI campus

Automotive Technology II

All courses except AT12-150, AT12-151, AT12-203, AT12-204

NASCAR Tech’s Automotive Technology

All courses except ADTA-135, ADTA-125, ADTN-140 and ADTN-141
