Yes, you need a high school diploma or GED to enroll in UTI’s HVACR Technician program. If you’re still finishing, you can start the admissions process now and provide your documentation before your start date.
The best and first certification HVACR technicians should test for is the EPA 608 certification. Without it they cannot legally handle the refrigerants required for their job.
The NATE Core is another valuable test. It can set you apart from other technicians who haven't completed this exam and demonstrate expertise to employers.
