Located in Lisle, approximately 24 miles south of Schaumburg, UTI’s welding training in Illinois requires just 36 weeks to complete.
Students train in industry-standard labs equipped with tools, technologies and equipment used by welders in the field. The curriculum aims to teach students the four types of arc welding:
- Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
- Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
- Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
These processes are utilized by several industries including construction, manufacturing, automotive fabrication, aerospace and more. Once students graduate, they earn diplomas and can begin seeking out entry-level positions in the mentioned industries!

WELDING CAREER OUTLOOK NEAR SCHAUMBURG, IL

UTI Lisle doesn’t stop at welding training. We also have instructors who can help prepare students for careers in the automotive and diesel industries. Industrial Maintenance Technician, Robotics and Automation Technician and Wind Turbine Technician programs are also offered UTI Lisle, and enrollment is open!
Automotive Training
51 weeks of automotive courses like Automotive Service Engines Service and Repair, Automotive Powertrains and Transmission and Professional Automotive Service Writing help prepare students for entry-level positions, like automotive tech, service writer or smog inspector.7,77 The curriculum also helps prepare students to test for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification as they can substitute their training for one of the two years of hands-on experience required to take the exam.
Diesel Training
At UTI Lisle, the Diesel Technology program is a 45-week course that culminates in a diploma.7 The program offers hands-on instruction on Diesel Truck Preventative Maintenance, Vehicle Electronic Systems and Technology, Diesel Hydraulic Systems and other essential aspects of diesel technology. Upon graduation, students earn one of the two years of hands-on experience necessary to test for ASE certification.18
Industrial Maintenance Training
The Industrial Maintenance Technician training program at UTI is an exciting endeavor that covers a lot of ground in just 30 weeks. Our hands-on approach teaches students to maintain, diagnose and repair intricate power-generating machines. This valuable skill set can help businesses maximize the performance of their assets!
Robotics and Automation Training
UTI Lisle’s Robotics and Automation training program can prepare novice tech enthusiasts to pursue entry-level robotics and automation careers in less than one year! The 51-week program doesn’t require any prior experience to attend and provides students with skills that can help various industries keep up with the evolution of technology.
Wind Turbine Training
