Located roughly 24 miles from Miami, UTI Miramar’s welding school offers a comprehensive 36-week program that was created with help from industry leader Lincoln Electric.


UTI recognizes that attending a Welding training program like the one at UTI Miramar is many students’ first step in their career path. Therefore, our welding courses start at square one and develop students’ skill sets from the ground up. Those who have previous experience can sharpen their skills and gain practice using current technology.


Throughout the program, students are taught four main arc welding processes that are used across various industries, preparing them to pursue entry-level positions. Students are also taught to weld in several positions, to help them strengthen the problem-solving and adaptability skills necessary for the field.

PROGRAMS OFFERED AT UTI MIRAMAR

In addition to welding training, UTI Miramar offers three other training programs — Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, and Airframe & Powerplant Technician training.79 Learn more about each below!

Automotive Training

The automotive mechanic school at UTI Miramar offers a 51-week program designed to equip students with skills helpful for pursuing entry-level automotive roles.7 Automotive Technology students receive hands-on training in a professional environment that mimics the field to help prepare graduates for entry-level roles like auto technician, smog inspector, service writer or parts associate.18,77 Graduates earn an occupational associate degree (OAD).

Those who wish to focus their studies further can explore specialized training in BMW FastTrack, a 12-week Manufacturer-Specific Advanced Training (MSAT) program.8

Diesel Training

UTI Miramar’s diesel mechanic school is a 45-week training program that equips students with the knowledge and technical skills an increasing amount of employers seek in entry-level candidates.7 Students are taught hands-on using different diesel-powered vehicles and their related parts in an environment complete with technology and tools current to the field.18 Diesel program graduates earn diplomas.

Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Training

Our airframe and powerplant school is an 18-month program that welcomes students regardless of their experience level. Seasoned instructors lead hands-on practice in labs that mirror the type of environments seen in the field. Throughout the program, students can develop and sharpen their maintenance, diagnostic and repair skills, preparing them to pursue entry-level positions upon graduation. Potential roles for graduates to pursue include aviation maintenance technician, turbine technician or field technician.79
