GRADUATE TESTIMONIALS

From Classroom to Career: Pedro Ramirez's Journey with UTI

"I would recommend going through the UTI program. It's really fun working on trucks. I really enjoy it. "

Jumping from the classroom to his dream job became a reality for Pedro Ramirez, a UTI graduate who discovered his passion: embracing the thrill of working on trucks every day.1

Meet Pedro Ramirez, a UTI graduate who found his calling at Rush Truck Centers.

"I feel like I am where I'm supposed to be and where I wanted to be," Pedro shares with an infectious enthusiasm.

A Hands-On Approach to Learning

Pedro has always been a learn-by-doing person, and that knack for practical work drove him to excel in the Diesel Technology program at UTI.

"I've always really been hands-on, and I feel like that really motivated me to work on trucks," he recalls.

The courses at UTI didn't just teach him. They stuck with him, giving him the confidence and knowledge to kick-start his career.

Breaking Records and Building Engines

One of Pedro's standout memories from UTI is the brakes course, where a competitive spirit came to life.

"I think my favorite course I took through UTI was the brakes course because we had a competition …I think I beat that record," he beams.

But it wasn’t just about speed. Pedro’s favorite part of the job now involves long blocks and engine work, diving into the intricacies of machines he loves.

"My favorite project or favorite part of the job would have to be probably doing long blocks or engine work,” he recalls. “I really enjoy doing that and transmission at this point."

Looking Ahead: Learning and Growing

Pedro isn't stopping anytime soon. His goal is simple: Learn as much as possible and continue to grow in his field.

"My goals for the future, I’d just really like to learn more of whatever's available for me to learn here," he says.

The Path Toward Your Future: Consider UTI!

For those still in school and itching to get their hands dirty with real-world training, Pedro wholeheartedly recommends UTI.

"I would really recommend going through the UTI program. It's really fun working on trucks. I really enjoy it."
