PREPARE FOR THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS

If you've received a new student acceptance certificate, congratulations! You’re on your way to valuable career training. To help you prepare, we’ve created a list of things for you to complete before attending orientation and the first day of classes.

SET UP YOUR PERSONAL STUDENT EMAIL ACCOUNT

All UTI/MMI/NASCAR Tech communications will be sent to your personal student email account, so set it up as soon as possible and check it daily. Instructions on how to set up your student email account will be sent to the email address you originally provided to the Admissions team.

Review the email setup instructions and set up your student email account.

SUBMIT ANY REMAINING ENROLLMENT DOCUMENTS

Depending on the state in which the campus you’ll be attending is located, you may need to provide us with a copy of your high school diploma or GED.23 Contact your Admissions Representative to confirm which documents you will need to provide.

SUBMIT A FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA)

We recommend all new students explore their federal student aid options. Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form helps determine your eligibility for funds, including grants and student loans. 10 When applying, the first step in the process is to create a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) number. This will give you access to the Federal Student Aid online systems and can serve as your legal signature.

APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS

You may be eligible for other scholarships and grants that can help cover some of your tuitions costs. They typically don’t need to be repaid and are awarded based on certain criteria.

Check out our scholarships page to review the scholarship and grant opportunities. Don’t forget to do your own research for other opportunities available to help you pay your tuition.

SAVE MONEY TO GET YOU STARTED

It’s important to plan ahead, especially for those students who are relocating to attend UTI. Creating a budget and a savings plan will make your transition to school easier, so calculate your anticipated costs and begin setting aside money each month. We recommend you have at least $1,500 to $2,000 in savings before school begins.
