Avondale is a fast-growing community located about 14 miles from downtown Phoenix. Avondale provides safe neighborhoods, great parks, many dining and shopping options, as well as scenic trails and natural surroundings for outdoor enthusiasts.
Valley Metro provides public transportation in and around Avondale via a traditional public bus system and a reduced-fare in-city-only system called Zoom. Monthly bus passes for the traditional public bus system can be purchased in the Campus Accounting Office for $32.50. The Zoom bus system provides services to and from Avondale and the nearby city of Goodyear. Fares for this bus are $0.50 per ride.
There are plenty of fun things to do in the Avondale area. From the thrill of the racetracks, to beautiful art museums and sport complexes, to beautiful outdoor activities, there’s always something to experience!
Long Beach ranks as the third-largest city in Southern California. The city hosts the Grand Prix of Long Beach and an Indy Car race event, plus it has the Long Beach Motorsports Walk of Fame. Located between Los Angeles and Orange counties, it’s a diverse city with beautiful beaches and many sights to see.
Long Beach Transit provides more than 30 bus routes throughout Long Beach, Signal Hill and Lakewood. There is a bus stop located less than a 15-minute walk from campus. Long Beach is a bicycle-friendly city, and many of our students bike to school.
With the Pacific Ocean and downtown all within a short distance, there is lots to explore in Long Beach!
Rancho Cucamonga is a suburban city situated at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in San Bernardino County. It’s located about 37 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
Public transportation includes the OmniTrans bus system and Rancho Cucamonga Metrolink train station. In addition, a student carpool list is available in Student Services.

Sacramento is the capital of California and is located in the Central Valley. The UTI Sacramento campus is about six miles from both Sacramento International Airport and downtown, about 89 miles from San Francisco, about 114 miles from Lake Tahoe and about 148 miles from Santa Cruz.
Public transportation options in Sacramento include light rail, bus, Uber/Lyft, Amtrak, bikes, and more.

Orlando is located in the heart of central Florida, 84 miles northeast of Tampa and 56 miles southwest of Daytona Beach. Known as The City Beautiful, Orlando is home to more than 100 lakes and over a dozen theme parks, including Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort.
Orlando has two main public transportation systems, Lynx bus system and SunRail train system. Many students looking to get around town without a car can explore these options, as well as Uber, Lyft and taxi services. The school also maintains a carpool list.
Known as the theme park capital of the world, there is plenty to do in the sunny state of Florida. From the hustle and bustle of downtown Orlando to its breathtaking shores, it’s no wonder the city attracts more than 60 million visitors every year!
Lisle is located 25 miles west of downtown Chicago in DuPage County. While Chicago provides access to the resources of a major metropolitan area, Lisle’s charm offers a refreshing alternative to the big city.
Students who are looking to get around without a car typically bike, walk, use taxis, or try to navigate the Pace Bus Route (limited access). The school also maintains a carpool list, which contains a list of students who are willing to carpool.
Lisle is known for the Morton Arboretum, which encompasses 1,700 acres of woodlands, wetlands, gardens, and innovative exhibits like an interactive garden and the Maze Garden.

New Jersey Transit provides public transportation in and around Bloomfield, which includes bus, light rail and train. UTI students can get a 25% discount on NJ Transit monthly passes (if purchased by the 10th of the current month, the pass can be utilized for the entire month following).
