Housing Assistance

If you’re interested in relocating and need housing assistance, UTI works with Compass Rose and Collegiate Housing Services to offer options for students. This includes shared and independent housing:

Shared Housing

  • Best suited for students seeking roommates and a shared-living experience.
  • Rent, furniture, basic utilities and roommate matching are all included in a monthly payment.
  • All students are on individual leases.

Independent Housing

  • Best suited for families, students bringing a friend, students with pets or students who simply like their privacy.
  • Provide your preferences, and housing consultants will provide a list of properties.

Public Transportation

Valley Metro provides public transportation in and around Avondale via a traditional public bus system and a reduced-fare in-city-only system called Zoom. Monthly bus passes for the traditional public bus system can be purchased in the Campus Accounting Office for $32.50. The Zoom bus system provides services to and from Avondale and the nearby city of Goodyear. Fares for this bus are $0.50 per ride.

Entertainment

There are plenty of fun things to do in the Avondale area. From the thrill of the racetracks, to beautiful art museums and sport complexes, to beautiful outdoor activities, there’s always something to experience!

About Avondale

Avondale is a fast-growing community located about 14 miles from downtown Phoenix. Avondale provides safe neighborhoods, great parks, many dining and shopping options, as well as scenic trails and natural surroundings for outdoor enthusiasts.

About Long Beach

Long Beach ranks as the third-largest city in Southern California. The city hosts the Grand Prix of Long Beach and an Indy Car race event, plus it has the Long Beach Motorsports Walk of Fame. Located between Los Angeles and Orange counties, it’s a diverse city with beautiful beaches and many sights to see.

Public Transportation

Long Beach Transit provides more than 30 bus routes throughout Long Beach, Signal Hill and Lakewood. There is a bus stop located less than a 15-minute walk from campus. Long Beach is a bicycle-friendly city, and many of our students bike to school.

Entertainment

With the Pacific Ocean and downtown all within a short distance, there is lots to explore in Long Beach!

About Rancho Cucamonga

Rancho Cucamonga is a suburban city situated at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in San Bernardino County. It’s located about 37 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

Public Transportation

Public transportation includes the OmniTrans bus system and Rancho Cucamonga Metrolink train station. In addition, a student carpool list is available in Student Services.

Entertainment

Rancho Cucamonga is a great location with many entertainment options like shopping, dining, outdoor/indoor activities, and more!

About Sacramento

Sacramento is the capital of California and is located in the Central Valley. The UTI Sacramento campus is about six miles from both Sacramento International Airport and downtown, about 89 miles from San Francisco, about 114 miles from Lake Tahoe and about 148 miles from Santa Cruz.

Public Transportation

Public transportation options in Sacramento include light rail, bus, Uber/Lyft, Amtrak, bikes, and more.

Entertainment

Sacramento is a great location with many entertainment options like shopping, dining, outdoor/indoor activities, sporting events (NBA’s Sacramento Kings), and more!

About Orlando

Orlando is located in the heart of central Florida, 84 miles northeast of Tampa and 56 miles southwest of Daytona Beach. Known as The City Beautiful, Orlando is home to more than 100 lakes and over a dozen theme parks, including Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort.

Public Transportation

Orlando has two main public transportation systems, Lynx bus system and SunRail train system. Many students looking to get around town without a car can explore these options, as well as Uber, Lyft and taxi services. The school also maintains a carpool list.

Entertainment

Known as the theme park capital of the world, there is plenty to do in the sunny state of Florida. From the hustle and bustle of downtown Orlando to its breathtaking shores, it’s no wonder the city attracts more than 60 million visitors every year!

About Lisle

Lisle is located 25 miles west of downtown Chicago in DuPage County. While Chicago provides access to the resources of a major metropolitan area, Lisle’s charm offers a refreshing alternative to the big city.

Public Transportation

Students who are looking to get around without a car typically bike, walk, use taxis, or try to navigate the Pace Bus Route (limited access). The school also maintains a carpool list, which contains a list of students who are willing to carpool.

Entertainment

Lisle is known for the Morton Arboretum, which encompasses 1,700 acres of woodlands, wetlands, gardens, and innovative exhibits like an interactive garden and the Maze Garden.

About Bloomfield

Public Transportation

New Jersey Transit provides public transportation in and around Bloomfield, which includes bus, light rail and train. UTI students can get a 25% discount on NJ Transit monthly passes (if purchased by the 10th of the current month, the pass can be utilized for the entire month following).

About Mooresville

Mooresville is located about 25 miles north of Charlotte on the eastern bank of Lake Norman.

Public Transportation

Students looking to get around without a car typically bike, walk or use taxis. The school also maintains a list of students who are willing to carpool. This list is divided by the city where the students live. There is no real public transportation option in Mooresville.

Entertainment

Known as Race City USA, Mooresville is home to dozens of NASCAR teams, as well as the NASCAR Hall of Fame and the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame.

About Exton

UTI Exton is located about 35 miles west of Philadelphia in the suburbs of Chester County. Chester County’s rich history makes it a popular spot for communities and industries. With many local towns and cities surrounding the campus, you can spend your time enjoying local state parks, nearby racetracks, shopping and more.

Public Transportation

There is no real public transportation option with a direct route to the UTI Exton campus. However, the Exton area is well served by a network of highways and has train stations served by SEPTA regional rail and Kraft bus transit. UTI Exton does offer free shuttle services from the King of Prussia area, as well as Center City Philadelphia. The school also maintains a list of students who are willing to carpool.

About Austin

Austin is the capital of Texas and is known for its eclectic live-music scene centered around country, blues and rock. With more than 200 music venues in Austin, many outdoor activities, and tons of car clubs to check out, there is something for everyone.

Public Transportation

Austin offers public transportation, including bus and light rail through Capital Metro.

About Dallas/Fort Worth

The UTI Dallas/Fort Worth campus is located in the city of Irving, which is situated between the major cities of Dallas and Fort Worth and is considered an inner-ring suburb of Dallas. The campus is about five miles east of DFW Airport. As the second-largest state in both size and population, Texas encompasses 268,596 square miles.

Public Transportation

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is the Dallas public transportation authority that provides bus, rail and HOV lanes to much of Dallas County. Discount student bus pass applications are available from Student Services.

Entertainment

The size of the state and the bigger-than-life attitude of some of its inhabitants has led to the saying that “Everything is bigger in Texas.” Another common term, “Texas-Sized” is used to describe something that is large compared to other objects of its type.
