Electrical, Electronics & Industrial Technology Training Paths at UTI San Antonio
At UTI San Antonio, students can choose between two electrical and electronics training paths. The programs vary in duration and credentials, and you can enroll directly in either one.
12-month diploma program: Electrical, Electronics, & Industrial Technology
For students eager to enter the workforce, this path provides hands-on training in electrical theory, wiring, troubleshooting and industrial systems.- NCCER credentials + diploma

19-month associate degree program: Electrical, Electronics, & Industrial Management Technology

Electrican Technician Training FAQs
You need a high school diploma, GED or equivalent to enroll, but no prior technical experience is required. Our program starts with the basics and builds your skills step-by-step.
You can complete UTI’s San Antonio electrical technician training in just 12-19 months, depending on the path you choose. This hands-on training prepares you for entry-level roles in electrical and industrial technology fields with a focused curriculum, so you can start pursuing a career in less than two years.130

Electrical technicians work on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems. This can range from fire alarm systems to industrial machines.
A license is only required if you want to become an electrician. UTI’s EEIT program does not provide electrician licensing preparation, but it does prepare graduates to test for five credentials from the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER)—an industry-recognized foundation that develops standardized training and certifications for the construction and maintenance trades.
