Located north of Newark and due west of New York City, Bloomfield, New Jersey, is home to Universal Technical Institute’s Bloomfield campus. The campus offers UTI’s
Automotive, Diesel and Welding programs. There’s also the Ford Accelerated Credential Training (FACT) program for students who want to advance their training.
Many students are pleasantly surprised when they learn about the Bloomfield campus’ proximity to local racing venues. There are quite a few different types of tracks located within a short driving distance from campus. Whether it’s on a weeknight,
a weekend or perhaps over a longer break from school, UTI encourages students to check them the local racing action!

Interested in getting involved with racing, but don’t want to make the significant investment required to build a race car? Indoor electric go-kart racing might be right up your alley. RPM Raceway hosts daily go-kart racing — and things can get competitive. Located just 22 miles southeast of UTI Bloomfield, it’s a great way to spend some time when school isn’t in session.
Maple Grove Raceway may be a bit closer to UTI’s campus in Exton, Pennsylvania, but if you’re up for the drive, it’s
worth checking out. We’ve known of many die-hard drag racing fans who regularly drive more than a few hours to get to a great track, and if that sounds like you, Maple Grove should be on your short list. From April through October, at least
eight monthly events are held at the track, including street-legal drag racing and car shows. The raceway is about 141 miles from the UTI Bloomfield campus.
Another classic track for drag racing fans is Atco Dragway. Located about 94 miles south of UTI Bloomfield, Atco hosts events all summer on its quarter-mile drag strip. Dragsters, street-legal
cars and even motorcycles are welcome on this track.
Island Dragway is located about 48 miles west of UTI Bloomfield. Funny cars, street legal, motorcycle and more are all welcome on this quarter-mile drag strip. Be sure to check it out all summer.
Englishtown, New Jersey, is about 43 miles south of campus and is home to Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. Whatever type of racing you prefer, this track has you covered. Motocross, drag racing,
road course, go-kart, autocross and more can be found at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. It’s definitely worth the drive!
Pocono Raceway, also known as “The Tricky Triangle,” is your destination if you like to watch NASCAR and IndyCar live and in-person. Head west for about 93 miles , and you’ll
find yourself in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, home of this legendary 2.5-mile track configured in a triangle.
