in the action.
If you’re headed to UTI Long Beach for training in transportation or the skilled trades, you’ve come to the right place. Follow along as we share some of the top racetracks and racing opportunities
near Long Beach:
Interested in getting involved with racing, but don’t want to make the significant investment required to build a race car? Indoor electric go-kart racing might be right up your alley. K1 Speed hosts daily
go-kart racing — and things can get competitive. Located about 13 miles from campus, it’s a great place to go when school isn’t in session.
Go Kart World is another option for go-kart enthusiasts. Located less than 10 miles west of campus, students can find three main tracks to explore. Go Kart World claims to have the fastest go-karts in Southern California!
About 30 miles north of UTI Long Beach, Irwindale Speedway hosts drag racing and drift racing. Legend cars, late models, race trucks, Enduro bikes and more can be seen racing under the lights on either of the
track’s banked-oval courses.
Located about 70 miles northwest of campus, Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino is a quarter-mile, paved-oval track. Come out to watch Street Stock, Mini Stock, Figure 8 and more. The track history
dates to the 1940s and continues to host racing action all season long. More information and the schedule of events can be found on the track’s website.
Auto Club Raceway of Pomona is about 40 miles northeast of UTI Long Beach. Since the 1960s, drag racing fans have come out under the lights to see the action. Car shows and swap meets also take place at this National Hot Rod Association-operated track.
Visit the NHRA site for a schedule of events at Pomona.
Auto Club Speedway in Fontana hosts everything from NASCAR racing to autocross. The main course is a 2-mile, D-shaped oval, but they have options for various other types of racing as well.
