UTI Temporarily Moving to Online Instructor Led Courses

COVID-19 is impacting the world in ways we haven’t seen in recent memory. These are unsettling times. As UTI’s teams respond to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation, our decisions are guided by what is best for our students, our staff, and the wider community.

We continue to take direction from federal and local health authorities. Based on the recent Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines on social distancing we have temporarily transitioned to online classes and suspended in-person classes at all campuses.

For relocating students who are scheduled to start April 6 or April 27 (all UTI campuses) and April 13 (MMI Orlando)

Students will be able to start their education from home on their designated start date, without relocating. We are encouraging students who were planning to relocate not to do so at this time.

Upon notification of the campus reopening and resuming lab activities, students will need to begin the process of relocating. Campus housing will be available to assist in relocating efforts. Students should reach out directly to their housing provider to verify availability, next steps and any other questions related to relocating.

Students will complete the hands-on portion when they return to the classroom lab, as soon as we’re able to do so.

Students are currently continuing their education from home or, if they do not have access to a computer or the Internet, students will be allowed to come to campus to use the computer lab.

Campuses will remain open, unless circumstances warrant otherwise, to provide student support services. As we make this transition, our instructors and staff will be available to help students with anything that they need.

UTI will continue to follow strict CDC protocols, including cleaning and sanitizing our campuses daily, cleaning high-touch areas multiple times throughout the day, and providing hand sanitizer stations.

As soon as we can get students back to physically training in our labs, we will.

In the meantime, please continue to follow CDC recommendations on staying well.

  • Wash your hands and use a hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Catch coughs or sneezes with a tissue and throw the tissue into the trash.
  • Stay away from people who are sick.
  • Practice social distancing and avoid large crowds.
  • Regularly clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects at work and at home.
  • If you are sick or think you might be sick, don’t leave your home.

We'll continue to post UTI updates on this page. If you have questions that are not answered on our COVID-19 FAQ page, please email our Student Services team at campus_support@uti.edu.

Wishing you and your families good health,
