Application Process - How am I selected?

Job Application Process Overview

Application processes can be confusing. Universal Technical Institute wants to help make your process as smooth as possible. We have provided this step-by-step guide to the job posting and application process to aid in your understanding.

When beginning the application process, it is very important that your application is complete; a review and evaluation of your application may be the sole basis for determining your eligibility and consideration for an open position.

Five Steps to a New Career

Step One: Identify the Job Posting

What is a Job Posting?

A Job Posting is an invitation for the public to compete for existing and future job vacancies at Universal Technical Institute.

Job postings are posted on the UTI website, www.uticorp.com/jobs Monday through Friday, as soon as a need is identified. All Job Postings are open to internal current UTI employees first and then opened to the external public posting system. You can browse our current job openings several ways. Just click on Careers at UTI on our home page.

Step Two: Review Job Requirements

After you have identified the Job Posting in which you are interested, you should thoroughly review ALL the requirements to make sure you are qualified to compete.

Please keep in mind that all requirements must be completed by the closing date of the Job Posting. A candidate will be considered ineligible if ANY of the requirements are not met by the closing date.

    Education Requirements
You must meet the education requirements stated in the Job Posting by the closing date.

    Experience Requirements
You must meet the experience requirements by the Job Posting closing date. List all pertinent experience that qualifies you for the posting based upon the requirements of the job.

    Education or Experience Substitution Requirements
Substitutions for education and experience requirements are allowed only if the requirements section of the job description specifically states that a substitution can be made and what the substitutions are.

    Licenses and Certifications
If the Job Posting requires a license or certification, the license or certification must be current and valid.

    Driver's License
A driver's license valid in the state of the posting is required only if the operation of a motor vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the job.
