UTI Students Get Mean and Green for SEMA
With the 2008 SEMA show come-and-gone, Universal
Technical Institute leaves the Vegas crowd in awe.
Braille Battery had a tough deadline to meet for
their latest project and asked Orlando UTI/Nissan
students to help out with what could be an
"industry milestone" type vehicle.
In 2007 Braille first came to UTI for help on a wild
looking Nissan 350Z that was to be shown in the
Nissan North America booth, and would later go on
to win the SEMA Hottest Design Award. Now, with a
gallon of gas costing more than a Starbucks latte'
Braille has created a race inspired hybrid deemed
the Hybrid-HotRod Project. UTI students, under the
supervision of NATT instructor Eric Feltman, jumped
at the chance to make history and help create an
eco-friendly racer.
The meat of the car comes from a Nissan Altima hybrid
platform. From there the car boasts and assortment
of, "green technology." Click here to view the

"UTI just seemed like a natural fit;
they know how our team works and
they have a great understanding of
the Nissan product. We needed a
partner that knew how to treat the
car and its delicate systems and
really grasp what we were trying to
accomplish here. The students are
great to work with and will be an
asset to anyone looking to hire
them."
