UTI Mooresville is the exclusive educational provider for NASCAR and the only campus in the country to offer NASCAR-endorsed training. This 15-week manufacturer-specific training program trains you in everything from engines, fabrication and welding to aerodynamics and pit crew essentials.24
Through our elite Spec Engine program, select students have the opportunity to help instructors build engines. Over the years, some engines have even been used in NASCAR-sanctioned races.

UTI’s NASCAR Mechanic Technician Training program offers hands-on training that focuses on high-performance engines, racing technology, chassis fabrication and engine building. Students train with real race car components and industry-standard equipment.
The NASCAR Mechanic Technician Training program is offered exclusively at Universal Technical Institute’s Mooresville, North Carolina, campus. Located near many of the nation’s top race teams and racing facilities, the campus provides a unique environment for students pursuing careers in motorsports.24
UTI is not affiliated with NASCAR’s hiring decisions, and employment is not guaranteed. However, the Mooresville campus—home to the NASCAR Mechanic Technician Training program—is located near many professional race teams and performance shops. This location, combined with industry-relevant training, allows students to learn in an area known for motorsports activity.24
Graduates of UTI’s NASCAR Mechanic Technician Training program may pursue careers in motorsports, engine building, chassis and suspension work, dyno testing, fabrication and other high-performance automotive roles.24
