SUCCESS STORY HIGHLIGHT
Matt Ridgway
Matt wanted to take the sense of adventure and excitement from his military career into a new role, and a desk job just wasn't going to cut it.
That’s where the NASCAR Technology program at UTI Mooresville came in.1, 18
After getting hands-on, motorsports-specific training and gaining further experience in the industry, Matt now works in NASCAR.116 Check out more of his story.

See What You'll Train On
Pit boxes. Chassis options. Fueling. Cooling. Dynamometers. Our NASCAR elective focuses on all things high performance and helps you learn how to keep a car on the track. You’ll use all the same gear and race car setup technologies as the pros, too.

We’re Here to Help You Pursue Your Goals
Here at UTI, we get it. Like Matt, you want your career to be challenging and exciting – and in an industry that you’re passionate about. Some highlights of what we offer:
Fast Training Programs
Get ready for the industry sooner than with traditional college. Our core Automotive Technology training lasts 48-51 weeks depending on the location, and the NASCAR Technology & Motorsports training is an additional 15 weeks. That means you can graduate in less than a year and a half.
Industry-Related Training
We know how important it is to learn things the right way, which is why we work with NASCAR to develop our curriculum. You’ll learn applicable skills that you can carry with you from our labs to the workforce.116
Lasting Connections
Learn from instructors who have worked in the industry. Build relationships with peers who share your love for the thrill.

After You Graduate
Once you leave UTI, you don’t have to be on your own. We have a team dedicated to helping you transition into the field by assisting with job searches, resume building, interview prep and more.
Frequently Asked Questions
After completing UTI’s NTI Automotive Technology program and the NASCAR Technology elective, graduates can pursue careers in areas like motorsports, engine building, chassis and suspension, dyno testing, fabrication and other specialized automotive roles. Note that these roles are often highly competitive and may require additional industry experience.
UTI doesn’t influence NASCAR’s hiring decisions, and employment after training isn’t guaranteed. However, the Mooresville campus is surrounded by professional race teams and performance shops. With its location and hands-on training, students get a chance to train in a region known for its motorsports presence.
We have an entire Financial Aid department dedicated to helping you navigate options for paying for your program. They’ll help you fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which can help determine if you qualify for aid – such as scholarships, grants or loans.10
Yes, UTI Mooresville does offer housing and relocation support. Through third-party providers, students can access shared or independent housing options, roommate matching and additional services. Our in-house support services team is available to help guide you throughout the process.
