Boys and Girls Club UTI Scholarship
Are you a Boys & Girls Clubs member? If so, UTI and Boys & Girls Clubs of America have teamed up to offer $500,000 is scholarship opportunities for Club members wanting to pursue a STEM career in the in-demand transportation industry. Follow the instructions below for information on how to apply.

How To Apply:

Submit a link to your three-minute YouTube video to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and enter for your chance to win one of 15 grant-in-aid, full core-program tuition scholarships in the form of tuition reductions for automotive, diesel, collision repair, motorcycle, or marine technician training to Universal Technical Institute. Applicants must answer the following questions in their video:

  • 1. How do you think participating in a STEM program will help you succeed in your future career as a technician in the transportation industry?
  • 2. Provide an example of how you utilize the information you’ve learned in your STEM program in everyday life.

The deadline has passed to submit an entry for the Universal Technical Institute – Boys & Girls Club of America Scholarship.
The Top 10 finalists for each region will be selected by Universal Technical Institute and published April 18, 2016 to April 29, 2016.
The Top Three winning videos for each region will be selected by the Boys and Girls Club of America and announced May 2, 2016. Good luck.

  • The deadline to submit your video is May 15, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. (Pacific time).

  • The finalists for each region will be selected by Universal Technical Institute and published May 30 – June 10, 2016.

  • The top three winning videos for each region will be selected by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and announced June 13, 2016.

Applicants must be able to provide the following information:

  • Applicant name and contact information
  • UTI provided ID# - (Applicant must be enrolled to attend UTI in order to comply with regulatory requirements)
  • UTI campus where applicant is enrolled
  • Name and location of the Boys & Girls Club where the applicant is a member
  • Link to an original three-minute video
  • Acceptance of Terms & Conditions
  • Acknowledgement of applicant’s release of rights
  • Written consent forms from any other individuals depicted in their videos
  • Written authorization from a legal guardian if the applicant is under the age of 18

Boys & Girls Clubs Scholarship Program Rules:

Boys & Girls Clubs of America Scholarship Program Rules (please refer to the program Terms and Conditions for a complete list of rules) :
  • Applicants must be enrolled to attend UTI or one of its affiliate campuses and scheduled to start after June 13, 2016, but before June 13, 2017.
  • Be a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America
  • Video may not be more than three (3) minutes in length
  • Verbally answer the following questions: How do you think that participating in a STEM program will help you succeed in your future career as a technician in the transportation industry? Provide an example of how you utilize the information you’ve learned in your STEM program in everyday life. 
  • The video must be submitted at the same time as the application.
  • Applicants accept that in the act of submitting their application and video, they give UTI an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use the video submission in any media and for any of Sponsor’s purposes.
  • Videos must not include anything that is inappropriate for publication, including, but not limited to, profanity, sexually explicit content, hate speech, illegal conduct, gratuitous violence, or gang signs.
  • Videos may not specifically endorse UTI by verbally or visually stating that UTI is superior to other academic institutions or directly or indirectly suggest that another institution is inferior to UTI.
  • The video may not contain any work (in whole or in part) that is the subject of a copyright or infringes upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
  • Video must not have been submitted to any other competition or contest, or have received an award prior to submission as an entry in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Scholarship.
  • Videos must not contain music of any kind.
  • The video may not contain any other person besides the applicant unless a written release is received from such person by March 31, 2016 to the Scholarships Department at Universal Technical Institute, Inc., 16220 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254
