What is an Elective?

Electives give you options. In addition to your core automotive training, you may add any number of elective courses to develop your skills in the area of your choice – from learning more about particular brands of vehicles to training for a career in motorsports. With Advanced Training, you’ll choose from more opportunities and have opportunities for greater pay. To learn more visit the Employment Services Department at your campus!

Automotive
	BMW FastTrack Train hands-on with BMW models using dealer procedures and equipment while you prepare to be tested for your BMW factory credentials.
	Ford FACT This unique hands-on training program allows you to train on Ford and Lincoln models while earning most of the same factory credentials awarded to technicians at Ford Motor Company training centers.
	Mercedes-Benz STARt Receive hands-on training in the diagnosis and repair of Mercedes-Benz vehicles while you master dealership operations and procedures.
	NASCAR Tech Experience the only certified NASCAR training program at NASCAR Technical Institute where you’ll train for a career in motorsports.
	Nissan NATT Train hands-on with Nissan and Infiniti models, equipment and procedures while you earn credit in the Nissan Technician Certification system.
	SMOG Train to receive Certificates of Completion in four areas required for the California Smog license exam on your way to becoming a certified emissions technician.
	Toyota TPAT Learn hands-on using Toyota, Scion and Lexus models and factory procedures while you prepare for ASE certification.

Diesel
	Cummins Diesel Engines Get hands-on training on Cummins mid-range and heavy-duty engines and get a head start on earning your factory certifications.
	Cummins Power Generation Become certified on all Cummins Power Generation equipment and get a head start on earning your factory certifications.
	Daimler Trucks "Finish First" Train hands-on using a variety of Freightliner, Sterling and Western Star vehicles as you learn skills that are valued at service locations nationwide.
	International ITEP Get hands-on training on International diesel engines while you have the opportunity to earn valuable Factory Certifications.
