TUITION REDUCTION PROGRAM

Military Veteran Tuition Reduction Program*

To provide our honorably discharged military veterans the opportunity to receive training at a discounted rate, in appreciation of their service to our country. Training to become an automotive technician, marine or motorcycle technician or collision repair technician will help to reestablish discharged military personnel in a new career after their career with the military ends.

Prospective students who meet all other admissions requirements for the campus they wish to attend, and who can show verification of honorable discharge from the US Armed Forces via a valid DD214, may apply for 15% off the total program tuition.

This tuition reduction program will be available to students meeting the above stated criteria and who begin classes after June 1st, 2006.

Active military personnel applications will be reviewed and evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Dislocated Worker Tuition Reduction Program*

To provide a tuition reduction to those who have lost their jobs due to downsizing or outsourcing and are seeking the opportunity to receive training in automotive and/or diesel technology, motorcycle or marine technology, or collision repair technology, for a new career, or to reestablish their career in a new way.

Prospective students who meet all the admissions requirements for the campus they wish to attend, and meet the following criteria may apply for 20% off the total program tuition.

  1. Dislocated workers who have been outsourced or downsized, and are receiving Workforce Investment Act (WIA) benefits; OR
  2. Dislocated workers who have been outsourced or downsized, and are receiving Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) benefits, and who have enrolled in the Motorcycle Technician Program (57 weeks) or Marine Technician Program at MMI; the Automotive Technology (115) program at UTI; or the Automotive Technology w/NASCAR Engines I&II (127) at NTI.

This tuition reduction program will be available to students meeting the above stated criteria and who start begin classes on or after May 15th, 2006.

Process for Tuition Reduction Programs:

Students will apply for this tuition reduction by submitting an application with required documentation to the person or department shown on the application form.

UTI complies with all state, federal and accreditation requirements in awarding scholarships or tuition reduction programs. UTI does not discriminate against or tolerate the harassment of any potential applicant, applicant or student on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, disability, age, or any other legally protected status in the provision of its courses, programs, services or activities.

The Military Veteran Tuition Discount program cannot be used in conjunction with the Military Award Program (MAP). If a qualified student has already been awarded a MAP scholarship, it will be replaced by a tuition discount pursuant to this program.

*These programs are subject to modification or cessation at the school’s discretion. Affected incoming students will be notified of changes to the program. Discounts will be prorated over the term of the entire enrolled program. These programs are not available to students enrolling at the Exton, Pennsylvania campus. Students who cannot provide proof of honorable discharge will not be eligible to receive this tuition discount. UTI tuition discount programs cannot be combined. If a student qualifies for both discounts, s/he will receive the larger of the two.
